C.H. Robinson acquires Canadian forwarder Milgram & Company Ltd.

C.H. Robinson has expanded its global network of offices through the purchase of Milgram & Company Ltd. (“Milgram”), which is a recognized freight forwarder in Canada, and specializes in custom brokerage and overland cargo transportation.

John Wiehoff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C.H. Robinson, tells, “We’re bringing one of Canada’s most respected forwarding companies into C.H. Robinson, continuing our global expansion. This marks our third Global Forwarding acquisition within the past five years.”

Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Milgram has 3,500 active customers and employs approximately 330 people across its six offices in Canada and single office in the United States. For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2017, Milgram earned gross revenue of approximately $155.3 million CAD (approximately $124 million USD).

C.H. Robinson’s acquisition of Milgram & Company Ltd. has been made for approximately $62 million CAD (approximately $50 million USD): a figure approximating to its 2017 earnings and part of those for 2018, financed through C.H. Robinson’s existing revolving credit facility.
