Two companies co-exist in moving consignment management to the Lufthansa Cargo Terminal. The Cathay Pacific Cargo relocates local cargo control operations in Frankfurt to Lufthansa Cargo Terminal as a single entity in Respect of the airlines joint business Agreement.
The consolidation of both companies' import and export operations has been enacted as part of corporate Agreement between Cathay Pacific Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo. This was Initiated in May 2016, which results in transfer of Cathay Pacific Cargo freight handling into Lufthansa Cargo Terminal.
In-line with the pact between the two parties, the companies have tasks underway on network scheduling and sales with service extension and information technology at hand. With a plan to move the first joint consignment on 1 February 2017, which is to take route from Hong Kong to Europe and the facility to reserve eastwards shipments from Europe to Hong Kong later on 2018.
According to Simon Large, Director Cargo at Cathay Pacific, the company migration into Lufthansa Cargo Terminal is a vital step to bolster both parties cooperation. Also both partners are equiped to give better adaptability and direct connections, Cathay Pacific Cargo can now offer clients in Frankfurt the same administration standard in a more efficient and time — effective manner.
Further explained by Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, It’s a welcomed experience to advance the airlines contract and are thrilled to have achieved an additional landmark in the agreement, partaking to the consignment handling station at Frankfurt. Both companies’ clients at Frankfurt will be able to enjoy profits of the cooperation.
The contract was passed with absolute agreement to all applicable laws, including the rivalries rules of the European Union and Hong Kong.
