C.H. Robinson is acquiring APC Logistics, a provider of freight forwarding

C.H. Robinson is buying APC Logistics, which is one of the biggest providers of freight forwarding and customs brokers in Australia and New Zealand. The definitive agreement has been concluded by two companies. The cost of the transaction will be at $300 million AUD (approximately $225 million USD). C.H. Robinson intends to purchase APC Logistics in cash. The acquisition is supposed to be financed through cash and revolving credit facility.

These two companies have maintained a partnership for 16 years. The purchase is a part of C.H. Robinson’s strategy to expand the global network.

“This acquisition allows us to add great talent to our Global Forwarding team. We will work hard to successfully integrate the valued employees, customers and suppliers of APC,” said John Wiehoff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C.H. Robinson.

C.H. Robinson currently serves 4 continents and 37 countries. The company employs more than 13,000 people, working in 280 offices in different parts of the world.

More than 3,000 customers and suppliers are provided by APC Logistics with ocean, air, brokerage and consultancy services. The company has 7 offices in Australia and 2 offices in New Zealand. The total APC’s revenues for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 amounted to $334.2 million AUD (approximately $251 million USD).
